GreenYellow is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Unilever Philippines, the first solar project for GreenYellow in the Philippines. This collaboration establishes a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Unilever Nutrition Cavite and GreenYellow. This project will generate and supply clean, solar-powered electricity to power key factory buildings such as the Savoury factory, Dressings factory, and utilities building.
The impressive 1,211 kWp solar installation is projected to produce a significant 1,847 MWh of renewable energy annually. This shift to solar complements the factory's existing commitment to sustainability, which already utilizes geothermal energy.
"Our purpose is to make sustainable living commonplace, and the Philippines plays a crucial role in this mission. We accelerate our actions through meaningful partnerships with experts and investments in technologies that support operational efficiencies," said Reginaldo Ecclissato, Chief Business Operations and Supply Chain Officer of Unilever
"With our plan for this solar energy partnership with GreenYellow, we are building on our long-standing use of renewable energy for our factories, offices, and facilities. By including solar energy in our mix, we strengthen our operations and sustainability commitments," added Arvind Sunderrajan, Nutrition Head of Supply Chain SEA & Indonesia of Unilever
Unilever, GreenYellow, and government officials gathered to celebrate the signing of a Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Unilever's Nutrition factory. This milestone signifies a major advancement for GreenYellow in aiding Unilever's initiative to integrate solar energy into its Nutrition factory.
